Waco's #1 Attraction - Baylor University!

 Baylor named one of the prettiest college campuses in America by Architectural Digest

We have finally arrived to the most anticpated blog post for the greatest attraction in Waco, Texas. Drumroll please ... it is Baylor University! I may be a little biased given that I am a Baylor student currently, but in all seriousness, the campus truly shapes the overall character of the city of Waco and surrounding areas. 

Baylor University is full of life with tradition and community, providing a number of different ways for students and visitors alike to create special memories. From celebrating historic events to embracing the joy of togetherness, Baylor's campus is filled with opportunity after opportunity to experience its vibrant culture and strong sense of pride.

Its charm and tradition also are part of everyday campus life at Baylor. One just has to visit the Bill and Eva Williams Bear Habitat and be reminded of this strong and proud legacy by Baylor's live mascots Joy and Lady. And then there is the carillon bells in Pat Neff Hall echoing across the campus as a timeless symbol of Baylor tradition.

Situated along the Brazos River, Baylor provides nature lovers with opportunities for outdoor activities. The Baylor Marina, popular among students, allows kayak, paddleboard, and canoe rentals for the purpose of relaxing and enjoying the beauty of the water. The campus itself is a lush, green haven ideal for studying under a tree or enjoying a sunny day on Fountain Mall.

Dining on campus is an experience worth having, too. From picking up coffee at Common Grounds-a favorite local coffee shop right next door to campus-to enjoying a meal at the Penland or Memorial dining halls, students have a range of options that suit a multitude of tastes.

At Baylor, every season is filled with special traditions that come alive on campus. From the thrill of Homecoming to the magic of Christmas on 5th, Baylor's storied history and dynamic community make every moment a celebration worth having. If you're a student or a visitor, these moments will make you feel connected to the heartbeat of Baylor. 

That profound sense of connection is one of the main reasons why I chose to make Baylor University my home. Along with the amazing attractions on this blog list that are around Waco, Texas. I highly encourage any prospective students to consider attending Baylor University. Sic'Em Bears!

  One of the coolest museums that is in Waco, TX is the Sue and Frank Mayborn Science and Cultural History Museum Complex at Baylor University. This museum opened in 2004, but many elements of the museum date much farther back than its opening date. Beginning in the 1850s, Baylor professors began collecting various materials in the fields of biology, physics, chemistry, geology and more. Professors John K. Waco's #4 Attraction: Waco Downtown Farmers Market!

  A different type of place to visit during a Saturday morning would be the Waco Downtown Farmer's Market! This farmer's market has grown significantly since its inception in 2011, and boasts thousands of visitors a month.  Founded in 2011 along the banks of the Brazos River in a shaded area surrounded by live oak trees, the market brought a more fresh way to obtain foods in the Central Texas area. The Market operated all year-long along the Brazos River for the next six years.  It grew from 14 vendors to over 40 vendors within that time frame. Every week, different musicians would come and perform at the venue to help enhance the experience.  In 2017, due to riverside construction, the farmer's market had to relocate to the McLennan County Courthouse parking lot.
