Waco's #5 Attraction - The Waco Hippodrome Theatre!

  A really unique site in Waco is definitely The Waco Hippodrome Theatre. This is an iconic Waco landmark that not many outside the area know about.  This historic building hosts various of entertainment options ranging from first-run and classic films, live music, comedy concerts, and plays! The venue also has a history of hosting events for families such as weddings, holiday parties, corporate meetings, or any other special gatherings.  Founded in 1914, this theatre has been Waco's prime spot for extraordinary events and has enriched the city's culture.   A truly unique Waco attraction is the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum! This is an official hall of fame, museum, and archives for the Texas Rangers. The organization is the oldest law enforcement agency in the United States, and serves as a symbol of resilience of the American West.  Founded in 1968 on the banks of the Brazos River, this small museum dedicated to the Texas Rangers opened. This was made possible through efforts of the State of Texas, Texas Department of Public Safety, City of Waco, and Waco Chamber of Commerce.  More than fifty years later, the museum has become a historical center and has welcomed over 4.5 million visitors from all around the world. Waco's #7 Attraction - Homestead Heritage!

  A great family-friendly place to go visit in Waco is Homestead Heritage! This 550 acre farms is comprised of small family farmsteads with various of animals. These families will raise their own staple crops such as wheat, corn, beans, fruits, vegetables, etc. every year.  The property features a water-wheel-run gristmill which is located in a 250-year-old hand-crafted mill which produces grains. The farm and ranch-raised produce the community does not use is sold at the gristmill or restaurant or is otherwise given away.  The Homestead is especially known for its quality craftsmanship. The Craft Village includes a pottery house, woodworking, and blacksmith shops. Waco's #8 Attraction - Mayborn Museum!

  One of the coolest museums that is in Waco, TX is the Sue and Frank Mayborn Science and Cultural History Museum Complex at Baylor University. This museum opened in 2004, but many elements of the museum date much farther back than its opening date. Beginning in the 1850s, Baylor professors began collecting various materials in the fields of biology, physics, chemistry, geology and more. Professors John K. Strecker, Ollie Mae Moen, and Governor Bill Daniel all contributed to this historic complex by either gathering different artifacts, providing leadership during its expansion, and donating the Historic Village to the University in 1985.  This iconic Waco museum features five stunning exhibits: The Natural and Cultural Exhibits has many of the artifacts that Professor Strecker collected such as the humpback whale skull.
